The course at Arcos Gardens Golf & Country Club was constructed by American company Landmark, designers of courses like PGA West, Palm Beach Polo and the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island. This 18-hole layout, set within the 440-acre Arcos Gardens residential estate, is intended to challenge elite golfers and entertain amateurs at the same time.

Since opening in 2006, it has certainly succeeded in attracting the more proficient golfer as both the Swedish Golf Federation and the English Golf Union have chosen Arcos Gardens as a winter training facility.

The golf club’s green credentials are very much to the fore as they have replanted more than 2,000 olive trees around the property and installed a modern water treatment plant to recycle all water used on the course.

The front and back nine both feature great closing holes. A stream on the par five 9th cuts across the fairway twice as it meanders into a pond to the right of the green and a lake to the left of the 18th green awaits any pulled final approach shots.

A clubhouse, spa and equestrian centre are all due to be completed in the very near future, finishing off a fabulous golfing facility at Arcos Gardens Golf & Country Club.

Reviews for Arcos Gardens

Av. Reviewers Score:

This was always my favourite Golf Destination in the region. The club was closed for all summer 2014, reopened in October 2014. Clubhouse is closed, the "old" clubhouse is being used again. Big efforts were bein made in autumn 2014 to restructure the course. It is still ( Sept 2015) difficult to find a telephonenumber or homepage that is valid. I will try to play the couse next week and will report if successful. I rate the course eagle with some kind of optimism

I have played the course 3 days ago. NEVER saw such dry fairways. The fairways are blonde, look like a field after the crop has benn brought into the sheds. The Greens are living, not as good as they were but reasonably ok. Still, I played my handicap saying that despite the weird look the couse IS playable. Dry fairways guarantee for some extra length if you hit it straight. I have always been a big fan of the layout, that has not changed. And I expect things to become better after some rain. At the Moment, it is a very Special golf course, worth a visit ( They Charge 70 € for 2 incl. (old) Buggy) that is a fair deal as they tell you on Reservation about the condition of the course. Go there , Play it and help to preserve this jewel.! We had a fine day there once we came over the shocking looks at tee1.
A big golf championship course, plenty of room off the tee and fast greens make a challenge. You certainly get to play all the clubs in your bag and I love the finish stretch with the town of Arcos always in view. Make the effort to play it, you will not regret it.

Have spent two great weeks at the Arcos Gartens restort in Nov 2006 and April 2007. Like earlier reviever wrote its possible to choose the toughness of the course by choosing different tees. There are great practice facilities to improve the game. Very proffessional friendly staff make the stay at the cortio fain very memorable.

Wide fairways makes the course easy to play for the first time and the choice of tees makes it the course play different, one of the reasons why this course does suit different levels of players. The greens are great. This new course is a star in the making.
