The course at Flint Golf Club is a 1918 Willie Park Jr. design that hasn’t altered much in a hundred years of operation. It’s been lengthened a bit to 6,671 yards from the back markers but that’s about the extent of any changes.

Founded in 1895, Frinton Golf Club is a venerable Essex seaside course, designed by Willie Park Jr. and later improved by Harry Colt. The course was recently renamed in honour of Arthur Havers who was the 1923 Open Champion and Frinton club professional.

Glasgow Gailes Links is a classic golf course. “The turf is something softer – at least in my imagination – than that of the East Coast courses,” wrote Darwin, “and the greens are wonderfully green and velvety.”
