With its course situated close to Moesgård Museum, Aarhus Golf Club is one of the oldest in Denmark, founded in 1931. The layout was redesigned in more recent times by Brian Hugget and Neil Coles working with Roger Dyer. Today, the layout stretches to just over 6,000 metres from the tips, playing to a par of 72 (37 out then 35 in), and holes are arranged as two returning nines inside a 130-acre property. Water comes into play on several occasions, with ponds separating the greens on #8 and #10 then #14 and #15 on the back nine.

Highlight holes include the 430-metre 4th (rated stroke index 1) where a pond short right of the fairway and a ditch 130 metres from the green must both be avoided; the par three 9th (with another pond sitting short left of the green); and the par four 18th which plays to a heavily bunkered home green with sand on three sides.
