Review for Aberdovey

Reviewer Score:

After a short trip down from Royal St David's, we were greeted at the entrance of Aberdovey GC by Ian, who showed us to our accommodation. 'Would you like a few holes this evening guys?' he said. 'Help yourselves'. Splendid people, splendid place! Albeit the course at Harlech might be more challenging, and the scenery at Nefyn is outstanding, there seemed to be something very special about Aberdovey. The course was being set up for the Welsh Seniors Amateur and was in lovely condition. Testing, but very fair and a match for a lot of higher ranked courses. A very solid out and back links course with some very testing, yet traditional holes. The par threes are terrific, especially the 12th. The overall experience was highly enjoyable and the value of dormy house accomodation and golf is only matched by Burnham & Berrow.
