A night in the Dormy with two rounds of golf.

The weather had been dry for an extended period of time send the course looked like a traditional straw coloured links. The tees were in good condition, the fairways were fast running, the semi-rough was sensible. The rough is either brutally tough or ok depending on which hole you miss, the outskirts of the course are often the tough spots to miss. The greens and surrounds were in excellent condition. The bunkers were well positioned and contained nice soft sand.

This is a proper out and back links. The first is (always) into the wind and over 400 yards is a tough start. The second is played from a dune and needs a carry to reach the fairway (left is not good). The third is a short par three into a bowl. The fifth takes you away from the dunes towards the railway, beware of the ditch short of the green. The next few holes allow you to play left of the target line, although watch out for fairway bunkers. The ninth is a par three at the end of the course to a surprisingly large green.

The 10th and 11th are long par fours with slight dog legs where the inside of the hole is tricky. The 12th is the only hole where you can see the sea from the green, but don't miss the green left as it's a deep bank. The route back in has some pretty holes protected by bunkers and some ditches. The 16th is a really good short par four, the trainline is in play for any shot going left, there are bunkers waiting to catch shots going right. The green is sloping and has a steep drop to the left. The last is a 440 yard hole with a ditch down the left of the hole to a green in front of the clubhouse.
