This picture shows the view you get after duffing your drive off the "not so good first hole". I suspect most clubs would kill for such a hole. As you can see, it is (like the 18th coming back) still in the village, but you already see where you are heading for the rest of the round. I did play the course years ago, but paid no attention to the golf itself - I was simply overwhelmed by the views. On replaying yesterday I must say that this is not just a pretty face. There are actually some very good holes out there and the maintenance meld is great. I was especially suprised by the firm green surrounds, whereas the putting was just as difficult as ever. With the out-of-this-world views and the extremely solid golf I don't hesitate to call this the Banff Springs of the Alps.
