Review for Allegria

Reviewer Score:

First, let's be honest: this is NOT the best course in Egypt! Heck, it's not even the best course in the Cairo area. The biggest problem is the weed infestation that has taken almost one-third of the course. Fortunately, the weeds have not taken over the greens, yet. But, given the course's financial status...members fleeing in droves, and the departure of the greenkeeper...the loss of the greens ( the course's best feature ) can not be far away. The design is somewhat appealing, but houses intervene in way too many spots making shot shaping quite impossible. Golfers in west Cairo are much better served at Palm Hills, which may be the country's second or third best course after Sokhna and Katemaya Dunes. Play it by all means. But, do not expect the best in Egypt
