Aquella Golf & Country Club
The course was designed by Paul Reeves and Phil Ryan of Pacific Coast Design, and opened in 2021, breathing new life into the former Thai Muang Golf Course site. Leveraging local sand profiles and salvaged timber for bunker faces, the duo crafted a course that pays homage to Thai Muang’s history while offering a distinctly modern, strategic test for golfers of every level.
The layout weaves around natural streams and rivers, taking the golfer out to the beachfront, whilst weaving through the native vegetation. The Championship-standard layout can be stretched back over 7,000 yards from the back tees, with the immaculate conditioning of the greens of particular note. A choice of tee boxes does make the course playable for all, with the experienced local caddies helping golfers to navigate the course with ease.
Aquella has been managed by IMG Golf Course Services since 2025, helping to ensure international visibility and to oversee the continual improvements to the course’s conditioning, routing, and wider facilities. Coming years will see a number of golfing villas added to the property, with the houses here set to become the discerning choice for those looking for the ultimate offering in luxury – both on and off the course.
