The course at Arcos Golf, formerly Arcos Gardens Golf & Country Club, was constructed by American company Landmark, designers of courses like PGA West, Palm Beach Polo and the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island. This 18-hole layout, set within the 440-acre Arcos Gardens residential estate, is intended to challenge elite golfers and entertain amateurs at the same time. Since opening in 2006, it has certainly succeeded in attracting the more proficient golfer as both the Swedish Golf Federation and the English Golf Union have chosen Arcos Golf as a winter training facility. The golf club’s green credentials are very much to the fore as they have replanted more than 2,000 olive trees around the property and installed a modern water treatment plant to recycle all water used on the course. The front and back nine both feature great closing holes. A stream on the par five 9th cuts across the fairway twice as it meanders into a pond to the right of the green and a lake to the left of the 18th green awaits any pulled final approach shots. A clubhouse, spa and equestrian centre are all due to be completed in the very near future, finishing off a fabulous golfing facility at Arcos Golf. |
Reviews for Arcos Golf
We played here 11 years ago, just after Lehman went bust. Sadly the financial crisis hasn't been good to Spain, and Arcos in particular, but when we played the course it was in lovely condition and had the potential to be a great golf.
The course was very wide off the tee, perhaps a little too generous, with plenty of elevated tees this is a nice place if you love to smash the driver.

A big golf championship course, plenty of room off the tee and fast greens make a challenge. You certainly get to play all the clubs in your bag and I love the finish stretch with the town of Arcos always in view. Make the effort to play it, you will not regret it.

Have spent two great weeks at the Arcos Gartens restort in Nov 2006 and April 2007. Like earlier reviever wrote its possible to choose the toughness of the course by choosing different tees. There are great practice facilities to improve the game. Very proffessional friendly staff make the stay at the cortio fain very memorable.
