Patagonia and Bariloche are famous for the views, Llao Llao, Chapelco GC (at SM de los Andes) and the winter skiing but certainly Arelauquen adds some quality for the destination when considering a summer golf trip. This venue was created in the 90s with the consulting of Vicente “Chino” Fernandez (Winner at St Andrews 1979) and with a very nice piece of land by the Lago Gutierrez and with mountains all around (some of them with permanent snow “nieves eternas”) Arelauquen is one of those special courses that will probably not be highlighted by the quality of the design but yes by the piece of land where it is set.

It is also quite a competitive layout compared to easy scoring LLao Llao and in a windy day could be quite a challenge. Well maintained, with a nice small Club House and Lodge, it is always part of the “trifecta” of the Patagonia Tour where golfers will be able to do some fly fishing, trekking and experiencing one of the nicest towns in Argentina.
