Arizona Country Club

Arizona Country Club has served Phoenix's golf community for nearly 100 years. Located between Phoenix and Scottsdale, this private club offers members an alternative to desert-style courses and can be considered a desert parkland (if there is such a thing).

From 1955 to 1973, the club shared Phoenix Open hosting duties with Phoenix Country Club. Arnold Palmer won two Phoenix Open championships here in 1961 and 1963. The course has hosted players including Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Ken Venturi, Ray Floyd, and Billy Casper.

Trees line the fairways, creating a Midwestern atmosphere, while palms add contrast. Views of Camelback Mountain and Papago Buttes frame the course. The greens have a fine reputation for quality throughout Phoenix.

This refined golfing sanctuary continues to uphold its position as one of Phoenix's premier private clubs, delivering an experience that honours its heritage while embracing modern excellence in club operations.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
