Arras (Vallée)

Located just outside the city of Arras in the Pas-de-Calais department of Hauts-de-France, the Arras Golf Resort is a 27-hole facility which features the 18-hole La Vallée course and a 9-hole short course called Les Aubébines, with both layouts designed by Jean-Claude Cornillot in 1990.

Measuring 6,117 metres from the back tees, La Vallée plays to a par of 72, with fairways laid out as two returning nines and water featuring on most of the holes on the outward half.

Highlights include back-to-back par fives at the 4th and 5th, the 190-metre 8th (with water to the left of and behind the green), and the 503-metre 18th, where the fairway doglegs right through an avenue of trees and across a steam as it heads to the home green.

The Open de France Dames tournament for professional women was staged here eleven times between 1996 and 2009 so it’s one of only seven clubs to have hosted this prestigious competition on the Ladies European Tour.

Trish Johnson from England won the 1996 event and both Lynette Brooky from New Zealand (2002/3) and Veronica Zuri from Italy (2005/6) claimed consecutive titles when it was played at Arras.
