I returned to Ashridge two years after being rather underwhelmed by my first visit and am delighted to report that our fourball had a great time.
The staff in the clubhouse were super as was the lunch overlooking the ninth,12th and 18th greens and tees on the 1st,10th and 13th holes.
The fairways were in mint condition and this time the rough was not nearly as dense on the first cut, so a slight stray was not so severely punished.
Indeed, Ashridge was how people had always told me and I am glad I can now park that tough day in 2021. In fact, I am looking forward to playing there again later this summer.
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
