Ballyliffin Golf Club (Glashedy Links)

Big land, big wind, and championship golf at the edge of Ireland

Opened in 1995 and designed by Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock, Glashedy was routed through some of the most dramatic dune systems in the country.

Of the two 18 hole courses at Ballyliffin, this would be the "Championship Test".

The course plays out over the higher ground, with holes intertwined by the endless miles of grass paths the course is a tremendous modern success.

Simply one of the best courses in Ireland, such a great design by Faldo, flows really well, a great mix of holes, and all the par3,s are superb, the stretch from 3-8 is as good as any links course I've played.

An unexpected, last minute addition to a recent Northern Ireland trip resulted in an extended drive across the border to Ireland’s most northern golf club at Ballyliffin.

I've been playing Ballyliffin (Glashedy) Links for 20 years, and (combined with the adjacent Old Links) it continues to offer a wonderful and challenging links golf experience, backed by a friendly and efficient staff (Pro Shop, Restaurant and Grounds Crew).

Ballyliffin is the most stunning setting of a golf course that I have ever played in - my playing partner told me several times during the round that it reminded him of RCD.

The Glashedy links at Ballyliffin opened for play in 1995 and as such is the younger sibling to the Old by just 22 years.
