Balmer See (Blue)

The Balmer See-Hotel-Golf-Spa facility lies on the Pomeranian island of Usedom, overlooking the Achtrwasser lagoon, where the 18-hole Gelber and Blauer courses are complemented by the 9-hole Roter layout at an impressive 45-hole golf complex.

Measuring 5,472 metres from the regular tees and playing to a par of 71 (34 out then 37 in), the Blue course is laid out as two returning nines, with water coming into play at the difficult 3-hole sequence between the par three 7th and par four 9th. Ponds protect the putting surface at each of these three holes and you’ll do well if you can walk to the 10th tee with three nett par scores for this trio.

Highlights on the Blue course include right doglegging short par fours at the 1st and 6th on the shorter front nine, along with testing par fives at the 12th and 14th on the back nine. The round concludes with a tough par four at the 372-metre 18th (rated stroke index 2), where out of bounds lurks perilously close to both the left side and the rear of the home green.
