Barham

The 18-hole layout at cluBarham Golf and Sports is a Ross Watson redesign, with a number of the tree-lined holes routed around Hudson Creek as it meanders through the property.

Golf was first played here as far back as 1913 then it took until 1971 before grass greens were brought into play. Ross Watson remodelled four holes in 2002, with Ben Chambers upgrading the 1st hole in more recent times.

Measuring 6,140 metres from the back tees, the course plays to a par of 73 (37 out then 36 in) and tree-lined holes are arranged as two returning nines. There’s only one par three on the outward half (at the 3rd) then the inward half starts and ends with a short hole.

Highlights include the long par four 5th (with a huge triangular bunker in front of the green); the right doglegging short par four 9th (with sand hazards front right and left of the green); and the left veering par five 16th which plays to a bunker free green.
