Barnbougle (The Dunes)

I was fortunate enough to play The Dunes around the time of its opening, when it left me in awe.

Barnbougle dunes course sits on the northeast coast of Tasmania a stunning Tom Doak design, laid out across the natural links land right along Bass Strait.

The course absolutely lived up to its reputation and ranking.

Stroll down the first fairway at Barnbougle Dunes, with the firm, springy turf under your feet, feel the stiff breeze off the sea and gaze at the huge dunes and gaping, wild-fringed bunkers, and you could easily kid yourself you’re on a traditional British links.

Have just played The Dunes again after a couple of years and have been fortunate to have played it numerous times with visits to Tasmania in the past.
