The Ocean course attracts all the golfing accolades at Barsebäck Golf resort because of its national and international tournament history but the shorter Pine course, which debuted in 1989, really doesn’t deserve to be overlooked at this wonderful golf complex on the Oresund Strait.

Overall rating

Barsebäck (Pine)

The Ocean course has all the golfing awards in the Barseback Golf resort due to its international and national championship history, but the less renowned Pine course (formerly named"the Donald Steel course), that opened in 1989, doesn't merit to be left out of this magnificent golf club located on the Oresund Strait.

The layout extends over 5,900 meters from the back markers playing to a par 71 (36 out and 35 in) with water entering play on a handful of holes along the nine-hole front, and most prominently on the inner side of the dogleg on four holes, including the par 5 4th as well as the fiveth, a par four. Then, two holes down the 7th's 315-metre length narrows and squeezes past the ponds that flank the fairway.

In the second nine some of the most memorable holes are both par threes on the 13th and the 15th, and in between these short holes, is one of the only holes that are not doglegging that are on the cards on the 14th hole, which is 376 metres long hole, with a stroke index of 1. Incredibly, all of the three holes are a significant left to right from the tee. This is a an advantage for golfers who can play the ball.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
