Bay Club at Mattapoisett

Conveniently situated close to the main Interstate 95 highway, the Bay Club at Mattapoisett is an early new millennium design from Brad Booth which was literally carved from the dense woodland area that overlooks Mattapoisett Harbor.

“Relatively understated in style, Bay Club at Mattapoisett sports a routing which, owing to the presence of a wooded preserve, places holes 5-16 well apart from their bretheren,” writes Daniel Wexler in The American Private Golf Club Guide.

The author continues: “There is little in the way of the spectacular here, but a number of solid holes, starting with a pair of strong early par fours, the 443-yard 2nd and 449-yard 3rd.

The 226-yard 9th (with water well left and sand everywhere else) joins the 172-yard 12th (played to a bunker-ringed green) and stiff 233-yard 14th among a cadre of solid par threes, and the finish is notable with a pair of large two-shotters, the 487–yard 17th and 447-yard 18th.”
