Bay Views

Formerly known as Rosebud Park Public Golf Course, Bay Views Golf Course was given a significant new millennium facelift by Peter Thomson and Ross Perrett, with holes 11 to 13 in particular reworked by the architects.

The course is laid out within a property of around 110 acres, extending to almost 5,300 metres from the back tees, with par set at 70 (36 out then 34 in). Holes are set as returning nines – #11 to #17 occupy a separate “compartment” to the north of the others – and there are three par threes and only one par five on the inward half.

Highlight holes include the first of the short holes at the downhill 3rd; the short par four 9th (golfers can’t see the base of the flag when playing their approach shot); the left doglegging par five 13th (where players enjoy views of Port Philip Bay from the highest point on the course); and the long par four 18th (rated stroke index 1) which has out of bounds on the left before the fairway reaches a false fronted home green.
