Review:
Wow, what a fun golf course to play. Something about this old throwback course reminded me of Lawsonia Links in Wisconsin, which is a personal favorite of mine. The course has two totally different nines split by the highway into Charlevoix. The front nine is a little lower and later which the back nine across the highway is more rolling. I found the back nine a little more interesting and the green complexes cut into the side of ridges at 16 and 17 were just brilliant.
This is a strategic course with a nice combination of long and short par fours, interesting par threes, and par fives that rewarded aggressive play. The greens were beautiful old-school designs with enough contour to challenge but never frustrate the player.
This was a fun day all around and I would highly recommend playing if you are anywhere in the area.
