Bentwater (Miller)
The Bentwater Yacht and Country Club is the centerpiece of a luxurious community on the shores of Lake Conroe, north of Houston. It features three 18-hole courses: Grand Pines, The Weiskopf, and The Miller. Although Scott Miller may not have the name recognition of Tom Weiskopf, his course stands its own at this property.
Miller makes a statement right out of the gate, with a large tree planted right in the middle of the fairway on the par five opener. The majority of the trees at this course will be lining the fairways, and providing a pine straw carpet made famous at clubs such as Augusta National (that said, we don’t recommend ending up under the trees off of the tee).
As with the other courses at Bentwater, the Miller will make several visits to the shores of Lake Conroe, offering photo opportunities...and a place to take penalty shots. If that aquatic scenery isn’t enough for you, a stream provides a more subtle opportunity to lose balls during the No. 16 and 17 holes. Beware!
The Miller is a traditional loop, not returning to the clubhouse until No. 18.
