Berkhamsted Golf Club

Played this course on an Autumnal Sunday afternoon and I would have to say it is an absolute delight.

Berkhamsted Golf Club, or "Birko," is easy to find with a sat-nav in the northern Chilterns between Luton and Berkhamsted.

Played Berkhamsted in February after heavy rain had closed many local courses.

I really enjoyed this course as i found it a good challenge but did suit my style of game.

I found myself less enthused than other reviewers here.

We played Berkhamsted in typical English conditions, cold, wet and windy and boy does this course feel like that's how it should be played.

Golf in Hertfordshire began at Berkhamsted in the 1870s but it was not until 1890 that Berkhamsted Golf Club was founded.

Very interesting course, very natural and punishing if you find yourself off the fairway.

I really like Berkhamsted.
