Berwick Montuna
The course at Berwick Montuna Golf Club has its origins in the late 1920s, when it was built on the Luke estate by two of the owner’s sons. Today, the layout extends to 5,006 metres, featuring just one par five and ending with a par three hole. Holes are arranged as two retuning nines, with par set at 69 (34 out then 35 in).
Highlight holes include the longest of the par fours on the front nine at the 334-metre 2nd, where the fairway veers left round a small lake on its way to the green. The 297-metre 7th bends to the right, with the fairway leading to a front-to-back sloping putting surface that’s hard to hit and hold.
On the back nine, the 451-metre 15th is the only par five on the scorecard, with out of bounds to the left of the fairway. The short par four 16th offers a reasonable chance of a birdie late in the round, even though it plays to one of the few greens that are protected by bunkers.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
