Bloxwich Golf Club dates back to 1924, when a 9-hole course was brought into play. Additional land was acquired soon after, allowing George Coburn – who had worked under Old Tom Morris at St Andrews – to double the number of holes, creating the 18-hole layout that’s still in play today.

Bloxwich

Bloxwich Golf Club dates back to 1924 the year that a 9-hole golf course was introduced to the public. Further land was bought shortly following, allowing George Coburn - who had worked under the late Tom Morris at St Andrews in the past - to expand his number of golf holes. This led to the 18-hole course that is in use today.

In the present, the course is 6,329 yards from back tees. It plays to the par of 70 (37 out and 34 in) The holes are laid out as two nines that retune. The more expansive outward portion (with the par 5s of three) is a course that runs around the entire course, which is enclosed by holes on the inner portion.

Some notable holes include one of the initial (and long) among the par 3s (with three bunkers protecting at the entrance of the green) and the difficult par six sixth (rated stroke index 2,) The sole par five in the back nine, at the 11th, which is left-veering and the long par four 18th where there is a dangerous out-of-bounds spot behind the green that is home.
