My partner and I fancied trying somewhere different for a week, so we stayed at Bogogno playing the Bonora three times and the other course on site, dei Conte, twice.
The Conte is the gentler course, not as punishing off the tee, but you will still need to hit good shots to score well. The only disappointment with the course is the first few holes which are not as interesting as those that follow. As with the Bonora course, the Conte is in very good condition with smooth greens of a reasonable pace.
The designer has done an excellent job at this resort producing two course of such differing character. The Conte is more of a resort style course, with the Bonora tighter and mostly tree-lined.
This course is a delight to play. It concludes with a testing par 4 over a hill and down to a green with a pond to catch a pulled second shot. The backdrop is the excellent and well appointed clubhouse and bar, where you can relax and watch others test themselves down the last.
This resort is currently an undiscovered gem, with few British golfers around. Despite this the staff were delightful. We will return.
