Bonalba

Laid out inside a large residential development to the north of Alicante, the course at Club de Golf Bonalba is a Ramón Espinosa design where holes are set round quite a few water hazards, with more hilly terrain found on the inward half.

The 18-hole layout extends to almost 6,400 metres from the back markers, with par set at 72. The opening four holes are free of aquatic interference but the following four holes bring water hazards in play either close to the fairway or by the green.

On the more undulating back nine, the uphill, right doglegging 12th is a beast of a par four, almost matched for difficulty at the 16th which veers right around a large reservoir. The downhill 17th then plays to a pond-protected green before players tee over another lake towards the home green.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
