Bootleg Gap

Situated a short 15-minute drive south of the Kimberley Alpine Resort, the 27-hole Bootleg Gap Golf facility comprises an 18-hole Les Furber-designed main layout and a 9-hole “Rec nine” short course which opened for business early in the new millennium.

Laid out on the north banks of the St Mary River, the big course can be stretched to over 7,100 yards from the back tees, playing to a par of 72, with holes laid out as two returning nines. The only hole that touches the river is the par four 14th which runs alongside it at the south side of the property.

Water comes into the reckoning on the 6th (a short par four played to a peninsula green), the par four 9th (with a small lake to the left of the green), then at the very narrow, right doglegging par five 18th, where the home green hides behind the same lake that protects the 9th.
