Situated 44 miles southeast of downtown Des Moines, the course at Bos Landen Golf Club is a mid-1990s Dick Phelps design that features a moderate amount of sand and water hazards, making it eminently playable for golfers of all abilities.
Bos Laden has much to offer the player that has played the course at least once before. Hilly terrain with blind shots to greens, short doglegged fairway landing areas and hidden dangers can make a good day go sour if your not careful.
Stronger players will not appreciate many of the sight lines that can send you offline without the advantage of playing it once. The layout of the course can sometimes be confusing and counter-intuitive to what you might be expecting. Not unusual to have to put the driver away and position yourself properly to then take a longer iron in to take the best shot at the pin.
