Located less than a half an hour’s drive from downtown Winnipeg, next to the small settlement of Starbuck, the eighteen holes at Bridges Golf Course are laid out on the floodplain of the meandering La Salle River, with water coming into play at more than half the holes on the scorecard.

The course measures almost 7,100 from the tips, playing to a par of 72, with holes arranged as two returning loops of nine. The river is crossed four times, demanding aerial approach shots to the green at the 3rd, 9th and 18th holes. The tee shot for the par four 11th is also played to a fairway on the other side of the river.

Highlight holes include the tough 462-yard 6th which doglegs left around a pond to a green that’s backed by another small pond so over-hit approach shots will end up wet here. On the back nine, the par five 12th is another formidable hole, measuring all of 606 yards, which doglegs slightly left from tee to green.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
