Golf at Buffalo Hill Golf Club was first played in 1918 but today’s 18-hole Championship course dates back to a remodel in 1978, when Arnold Palmer and Bob Dickson played a match to mark the reopening of the new layout.

Buffalo Hill (Championship)

Kalispell is a go-to stop for visitors finding their way to Glacier National Park in Montana’s northern limits. Although bears may be the fauna of choice for such hikers, Buffalo is the best mammal. Namely, Buffalo Hill Golf Club, a 27-hole Robert Muir Graves collection that’s closer to downtown Kalispell than the city’s other public options.

The Stillwater River is the obvious showcase for the course, providing exciting views for duffers and fly fishermen alike. The “Championship” course is a moderate 6,600 yards from the back tees, and the nine-hole “Cameron” course can be used to settle ties. The club opened for play during 1918, but the current rendition owes much to a 1978 remodel, and Arnold Palmer and Bob Dickson played a match to mark the reopening.
