Buxtehude

Laid out within a lush parkland setting to the southwest of Hamburg, the course at Golf-Club Buxtehude was renovated by David Krause in 2016, when the architect renewed putting surfaces, refurbished bunkers and updated the irrigation system.

The course measures almost 6,200 metres from the back tees, playing to a par of 72 (37 out, 35 in), with the front nine routed around the perimeter of the property to enclose the back nine. It’s a lightly bunkered layout and water hazards come into play on only two occasions in the form of small ponds next to the green on the par four 12th and the par five 18th.

Notable holes include the only par three on the outward half at the 154-metre 2nd and the left doglegging short par four 8th. On the inward half, the shortest par three on the card at the 126-metre 14th plays to a green with bunkers to the front and right of the putting surface, whilst the par four 18th (rated stroke index 2) concludes the round at a bunkerless home green.
