Calcot Park Golf Club

I almost didn't play based on the previous review, but I did as I was invited by a member (and customer).

For a period Harry Colt was so prolific it’s difficult to conclude he committed the same creativity and intensity to every design project he undertook.

Calcot has so much potential but I have to say I was slightly underwelmed.

A nice course, excellent condition, albeit overly expensive at £60 a round for a weekday.

the standout feature of Calcot Park are the green complexes which can baffle any visitor to the course.

Harry Colt designed many excellent golf courses in the Golden Age of course design in the 1920s and 1930s, and Calcot Park is typical with many Colt hallmarks.

We played Calcot Park on the way down to play the New Zealand.

Calcot Park lies in the middle of suburbia and with Reading town centre only a mile away in one direction and the M4 motorway equidistant in the other direction, Calcot Park is a good day out with easy access from most parts of Southern England.

Calcot gets better every time i play it.
