Cambridge Meridian

Located between the villages of Comberton and Toft, the course at Cambridge Meridian Golf Club – so named as it’s located on the geographical Meridian Line which runs through the layout – is a Peter Alliss and Clive Clark co-design that dates back to the early 1990s.

Measuring 6,671 yards from the back markers, the layout plays to a par of 73 (36 out then 73 in), with water hazards – in the form of small fairway and greenside ponds or the Bourn Brook – coming into play at several holes on the scorecard.

Highlight holes include the sharply right doglegging par five 4th (“Hounds Haunch”) with the brook meandering across the fairway in front of the green, and the short par four 9th (“Doublecross”) where the winding waters of the brook must be crossed twice.

The par four 16th (“Bunker Hill”) is a tough nut to crack, requiring two uphill shots to reach the green, and the left doglegging par five finishing hole (“Westward Home”) is almost as difficult, featuring fairway cross bunkers and another creek in front of the home green.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
