Holes are laid out on relatively flat terrain, with tight fairways lined by a plethora of different tree varieties, from Tuart to Jarrah, Banksia and Peppermint. Only a few holes, including the par four 2nd and par three 12th are orientated on an axis other than northeast-southwest, with many of the fairways running parallel to one another on both nines.
The Club hosts a number of competitions during the year, including the Capel Junior Open, Ladies’ Summer Cup, Easter Medley, Capel Classic, Capel Cup and the Capel 3000. The Capel Pro-Am, held annually in late May, is a major lead up event to the South West Open.
