Carlos Franco learned the game from his father, who was a green keeper and caddie, before becoming a professional golfer – just like his five brothers – in 1986. After a successful career on the PGA Tour where he won four events, Carlos returned to his native Paraguay to develop his own golf and country club.
More than just a mere golf club, the Carlos Franco Country & Golf Club complex is set within an extensive property that hosts international Polo tournaments as well as providing a diverse range of sporting activities (such as tennis and swimming) for its members.
Since 2004, the Carlos Franco Invitational tournament has been held at the Country & Golf Club. This event was included in Argentina’s professional golf circuit, the TPG Tour, in 2007 before it then became part of the Tour de las Americas the following year.
