Castlerock Golf Club (Bann)

Extremely underrated course.

During the course of my journey, I have visited and played numerous outstanding 9 hole layouts, and the Bann course rates as one of the best, incredible value for money, great conditioning and test, definitely worth inclusion on a visit to the area.

The Bann is like stepping back in time.

Playing in a fantastic bit of terrain seaside of the main Championship course the Bann Course should be included if you can on a trip to the area.

Can 9 holes be fun, brilliant, demanding, unfair, testing, breathtaking views and a must play all together?

I did see on here a while back that a nine-hole ranking may come about, and Bann would likely be near the top of it.

Excellent 9 hole course.

We arrived for the start of our 4 day trip to Northern Ireland with what we thought would be a nice easy ‘dust off the cobwebs’ type 9 holer before tackling the mussenden (main course) in the early afternoon, however what we got was in my opinion a bastion of 9 hole golf courses , which not only rivalled the main course but after much deliberating on our flight home concluded that it was probably the most enjoyable round on our trip, which also included Portrush and Portstewart golf clubs.

The Bann course is routed through some gigantic dunes and it is a mystery to me why this territory was not used more for The Mussenden course.
