Played on the last Weds in June 2011, the 1st leg of our Peak District trip and this was all of our favourite ! Watch out for the Mackenzie greens, they will catch you out, they are very subtle and quite often the pin can be placed on a little table making the putting very tricky ! The first three holes are a slight let down but after that the course gets better and better, the layout is lovely with a super mix of holes and the elevation (some uphill some downhill) makes it very pleasing to the eye. You do need to be straight on some holes but there is room on others. Best hole is possibly the 5th (uphill into the wind) a great Par 4 ! but the downhill 9th is a little gem with a devilish sloping green - beware !
