Had a throughly enjoyable weekend playing this and the Roman Road. The Montgomerie does have some great holes and also some average ones. The 10th is a particular highlight - a hole I would love to take home with me and play everyday. The facilities are top notch and the starters lively and engaging. The course is only really let down by the volume of 'hackers' they let on meaning the pace of play is so slow you are inevitably a 5hr round+. One guy I saw on the first tee had 2 airshots...thats just village. Longterm the resort would benefit from some more stringent review of handicaps rather than churning people through as that ruins it for everyone. That said I had a great weekend and the course was good fun.
