Centenary Park

Municipal golf was established in Frankston around 1938 but the local authority decided to relocate this public facility to outside the Melbourne suburb in 1975, going on to rename the layout Centenary Park Golf Course in 1986.

Conveniently situated off the Mornington Peninsula Freeway, next to The Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve, the tree-lined fairways of this 18-hole layout occupy a generous 140-acre rolling site, where holes are arranged as two returning nines.

There are several irrigation ponds on the property but they’re mainly positioned close to tee boxes (as at the 7th and 13th) so they don’t come into play – and if you end up in the long pond to the left of the green on the 12th then you are way off line!

Highlights include the par five opener (sliding left to one of the few bunker free greens on the layout); the tough par four 16th (rated stroke index 2); and the par three finisher (the shortest hole on the card) with a large bunker located on either side of the home green.
