Madrid, Spain- AddressCentro Nacional de Golf, Arroyo del Monte, 28035 Madrid, Spain
The Dave Thomas-designed course at Centro Nacional de Golf in Madrid has twice hosted the Open de España: in 2007 (with Charl Swartzel winning by one shot) and in 2018 when Jon Rahm claimed the first of his Spanish titles.
Headquarters of the Spanish Golf Federation, this impressive golf facility is situated on reclaimed land close to the city centre, beside the Madrid ring road, with easy access for golfers.
There’s also a large driving range and practice area positioned between the two nines comprising the main 18-hole layout.
Holes on the outward half traverse along the slope of a hillside, slowly climbing up to a high point at the 6th before falling down to the pond-protected par three 9th.
The opening holes on the back nine also rise up to higher ground over the motorway before the downhill 15th brings play back to finish on the water-laden final three holes.
