One of the many classic Nicklaus' designs in Central Texas (with many of his patented dog-leg rights) is maybe the best of the bunch. The routing is very thoughtful, and is an out and back with no return to the clubhouse until 18. While the course is built through a luxury neighborhood, you don't feel like you're playing in residents' backyards, as the course sits significantly off property lines. Every green felt like a mental battle, with bunkers cut into portions of the putting surface. Cimarron is one of the better privates in the area, and definitely worth a visit.
