Clover Greens

Part of an integrated real estate project, the 18-hole course at Clover Greens lies within a 170-acre property to the southeast of Bengaluru, where Pacific Coast Design built the layout to blend in with its environment in 2006.

The following couple of edited paragraphs are from the book Golf in India: The ultimate golfing guide by Phil Ryan and Paul Reeves:

“The vision for Clover Greens began in 2002 when six individual plot owners of the adjacent Clover Fields Estate wished to enhance their tranquil living lifestyle in the beautiful and peaceful residential community near the town of Sarjapur. The site has undulating movement that gently sloped away from the central ridge of rocky outcrop which became a significant feature that was integrated in the design of the golf course.

The environmental benefits required the golf course to be self sufficient with native grass planting that needed only minimum watering and able to adapt to the local conditions with less chemical applications. The fairways were contoured for undulating movement to fall towards hollows for harvesting/drainage of excess water (and) collecting water into mad-made lakes.

The golf course, while a lot of fun to play, really does test the golfer and conditions can vary greatly depending upon the wind of the day, which can totally change the strategy from a calm morning round to a strong easterly afternoon round. As the trees grow this will further change the approach to the golf course as quickly-growing evergreen trees will add significant penalty to errant shots.”

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
