Cobblestone
Located on the southeast shores of Lake Acworth, Cobblestone Golf Course is owned by Cobb County and operated by Mosaic Clubs & Resorts. Set out by Ken Dye from the Texas-based Finger Dye Spann design firm in 1993, this popular public course underwent an extensive renovation in 2010.
Featuring Champion Bermuda greens, white sand bunkers and a dozen lakefront holes, this tree-lined track is a big favourite of Metro-Atlanta golfers who know they can be standing on the 1st tee within an hour of leaving the state capital’s downtown area.
Cobblestone was a qualifying venue for the Bellsouth Classic when it was an event on the PGA Tour, so the course is more than capable of testing professional players from the back tees, measuring almost 6,800 yards in length.
Interestingly, with a configuration of three par threes, three par fours and three par fives on the front nine, the first occurrence of consecutive holes played to the same par doesn’t happen until the start of the back nine, at holes 10 to 12, which are all par fours.
World Top 100 Golf Courses
The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
