Colbert Hills

Laid out on the Kansas Flint Hills to the north west of Manhattan, the 18 holes at Colbert Hills were fashioned by the design partnership of Champions Tour player Jim Colbert and architect Jeff Brauer. The course opened with an invitational pro-am tournament on 30th April 2000 and among those competing were Lee Trevino, Raymond Floyd and Annika Sorenstam.

The course is home to the men's and women's golf teams of Kansas State University and it’s also used by that particular educational establishment as an environmental research and turf management facility. Colbert Hills is also home to The First Tee Academy and the Earl Woods National Youth Golf Academy.

The signature hole is the 600-yard par five 7th, where the hole drops almost a hundred feet from the tee box down to the fairway. The landing area for the tee shot is hampered by three bunkers and the second landing area is also heavily sand-protected, with the best position for approach shots located on the right side of the fairway.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
