Commercial Albury

Laid out within a compact 90-acre property near the centre of town, the tree-lined fairways at Commercial Albury Golf Club have been in operation since the club was founded in 1901. Unusually, a round starts here with consecutive par fives.

Occupying a compact, 90-acre property, the course extends to 5,755 metres, playing to a par of 70 (36 out then 34 in), with most of the tree-lined holes laid out on a northwest-southeast axis. Both the par three 10th and par four 18th return players to the clubhouse.

Highlight holes include the tight, right doglegging par four 3rd (with a concrete-lined storm drain crossing the fairway in front of the green) and the shorter par four 5th which also veers right off the tee, crossing the same water hazard in the northeast corner of the property.

On the inward half, the par three 12th plays to an unusual oval-shaped green which is almost entirely surrounded by narrow bunkers whilst the par four 18th bends gently left to a home green that’s protected by a couple of bunkers to the front left of a very small putting surface.

World Top 100 Golf Courses

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
