The distinctive feature I remember after playing Connemara is the presence of rocky outcrops throughout the rather flattish course. This does not detract from the experience, but it points out the degree of variety which is possible among championship links courses. This is an easily walkable track, which is rather bracing on a typically breezy day by the coast. You are presented with numerous scenic vistas as well as golfing challenges. This course is no pushover, though your troubles will generally not include losing your ball too often. This is a very worthwhile part of Ireland and your effort to play here will definitely not be a mistake. I will remember the closing several holes as a save-the-best-for-last experience. Par in on 17 and 18 and you'll walk to the clubhouse bar with a spring in your step.
