Coosa Country Club

Coosa Country Club is an 18-hole parkland-style course situated among the rolling hills and rivers of Rome, Georgia, in the North Georgia region of the United States. The club was founded on August 15, 1909, by a local group of golf enthusiasts, making it one of the older private clubs in the state. The back nine was designed by golf course architect Charles W. Hall and opened in 1932, establishing the layout that would form the foundation of the course for decades.

In 1961, prominent American golf course architect George Cobb undertook a significant redesign of the course, relocating the 7th, 8th, and 9th holes and establishing a dedicated practice range. Cobb was a well-regarded designer active throughout the mid-twentieth century, particularly known for his work across the southeastern United States. The course played in this configuration for over six decades before undergoing its most substantial transformation to date.

In 2023, Beau Welling Design completed a comprehensive renovation of the course, modernizing all aspects of play while retaining the character of the property. The renovation produced 6,924 yards of Bermuda grass fairways complemented by championship Bent grass greens. The terrain reflects the natural topography of North Georgia, with elevation changes and scenic vistas characteristic of the region's piedmont landscape.

Coosa Country Club operates under a no tee time policy, a hallmark of its traditional private club ethos. The club hosts Men's Golf Association and Women's Golf Association events throughout the season, as well as various club tournaments, and maintains a junior development program in partnership with Darlington School.
