In Volume 2 of The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses by Tom Doak, Ran Morrissett, Masa Nishijima and Darius Oliver, the authors have this to say about the course:“As home club to both Eduardo Romero and Angel Cabrera, the course known locally as Villa Allende has a great history of producing champions. It is a very green parkland course over gently rolling terrain, but neither the greens nor the bunkering give it any flair; instead, the holes rely on a multitude of trees to enforce the line of play on the many doglegs.”
Córdoba Golf Club is home to two great golfers: "El Pato" Cabrera and "El Gato" Romero and their excellent American-style course has been transformed over the last 15 years. Its agrostis bent grass greens were reconstructed under USGA standards and its generous tifton fairways were improved notably. Some construction details such as bunker edges were also improved and the original routing was modified. Corboda Golf Club is located just by the Sierras Chicas, in Villa Allende and provides the ideal location for a round of golf.
Corboda hosts one of the most traditional events of Argentine professional golf: the Center Open Championship, event sanctioned by the European Challenge Tour, what has given even greater relevance to the tournament.

This is no course for flip flops folks. The closest course to downtown Cordoba is probably the greatest overall test of the big four you will play in Cordoba.
You will not come here for the scenery, It is about the course. It is about the test. Each hole is pretty but you will need blinkers to get a sense of a true journey. It is a suburban property and quite a small plot. Kinda like Firestone. You come here for the test, the exam. It delivers. It is hard to score and easy to bleed but you will lose 0 Balls.
You are always under pressure, with narrow fairways and tricky approaches to well defended small greens. The conditioning was great from start to finish and where other courses in the area will put a smile on your face this one pleases in a different way. You have to concentrate and hit fairways and greens or you are always in the backseat.
It is a pleasure to play and El Gato Romirez and Angel have given the club a lovely slice of important history that you can soak up in the elegant clubhouse after the round; with an enormous Steak, Some fine Malbec and view over the 1st and 18th holes. Cordoba is a superb destination for a golf trip. Such a great variety from the big 4. One more and they could form a girl/boy band! It is on its way in May, Terrano...
This course is a serious test and examination of your game.
