Club de Golf Costa Brava was founded in 1962 but the course didn’t appear for another six years. Designed by John Hamilton Stutt, the layout’s routed through woods on the front nine before transitioning into a more open back nine.

The Green Course at Club Golf Costa Brava offers a well-balanced golfing experience that combines classic design with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Nestled among rolling hills and traditional Catalan landscapes, the course is both scenic and strategic. It rewards thoughtful play rather than sheer strength. Fairways are generally wide, but the layout keeps you engaged with subtle doglegs, elevation changes, and greens that require a sure short game. This layout suits a variety of handicaps, making it great for families, mixed groups, or anyone seeking an enjoyable yet meaningful challenge.
The practice facilities are a true strength of the club. The driving range is spacious and well-maintained, with targets that make warm-ups purposeful instead of routine. The short-game area is also impressive, providing ample space to practice chipping, bunker play, and putting before heading out. The staff around the clubhouse and pro shop are consistently friendly and efficient. They create a relaxed environment that feels welcoming and never rushed.
The clubhouse has a charming, traditional feel with a terrace that overlooks parts of the course, ideal for a drink or a snack after your round. The restaurant serves quality local dishes, and the service is attentive without being intrusive. The overall atmosphere is calm, sociable, and distinctly Catalan. This gives the club a unique identity that sets it apart from more commercial resort courses.
In short, the Green Course at Costa Brava provides a memorable round, supported by excellent facilities and a warm, authentic club environment.

The latest ranking of the Top 100 Golf Courses in the World serves as the ultimate global golf bucket list. Most members of our World Top 100 Panel are seasoned golfers, each playing 20-30 of these courses annually while travelling extensively over decades to form their opinions on others. We recognise that opinions vary—even among our panel members. Rankings are subjective, and there are undoubtedly 50 or more courses in the UK and USA alone that could easily fit onto this list.
